Throughout my life many have come to be a part of who I am today. They have taught me the meaning of true friendship, love, honesty and most important, respect and trust. Yet, many have exited for different reasons, leaving some sort of lesson with me. Life as I know it, is not something to take for granted, nor is it, something one can completely understand or reason with. There is not always answers to things, and there’s not always an easy way to handle it. You have to just accept it and appreciate it for what it is and what it offers you, not others.
I am a strong believer in many things. I try not to push my beliefs unto others. I feel strongly that people are brought into our lives every day for a reason. Some are brief encounters, some are temporary and some last our entire lives, even if we speak occasionally, they will be the ones there when you leave this life. Each person brings something at a particular point in your life, and most of the time, you don’t even know it. You just know that there was a connection between you both, and it is that, that bonds you, for however long it is meant to. If it is to pass, let it go and go your separate ways, without resentment or hatred.
I try not to burn bridges through my journey here. I stay faithful and try to be as honest as I can with myself and with each person I connect with, but I have learned that not everyone can say or do that. I stand with the ones who choose to stand with me. I protect those who are willing to protect me as well. I look out for myself and got the backs of those who I love and care about. I weed out all the negativity. I only bite when bitten, and I only fight, when attacked.
I have been blessed in this life with love. With a heart that has been broken many times over, but has the strength to put the pieces back together and keep beating and giving, no matter what, and live my life in a way that shows it. I have been blessed with a spirit that has gotten back into flight with every storm that has occurred. I have been blessed to have the people in my life that I have, and met the ones whom I have met. I have been blessed to have had the many things in life that I have had, and to have things taken away, living off very little many times. I have been able to travel and see places, do things that very few get to do. This life is wonderful and for that, I will always be thankful and humble.
